Bush FINALLY leave the White House? He obviously is still in charge and the current president is too weak to remove him from his former position. This is obvious by the fact that every time the Congressional Budget Office comes out with a status report, the so called president and congress continue to blame it on the real acting president, President Bush.

Granted, George W. did have a budget deficit of $459 billion in his last year (although Barack did suspend his campaign to vote for a large portion of it), but he should be ashamed that he has now run up a budget deficit of $1.4 trillion dollars for 2009.

If we had a president that had the nerve to remove his predecessor, then we could get back on track to removing this incredible debt that is being laid at the feet of the American people and our future generations.

I mean, the currently elected president has already made strides. He has borrowed/printed 245 billion to bail out Wall Street, the stimulus plan of approximately 1.1 trillion dollars was money we had in savings anyway – right? Not to mention his increases in unemployment and food stamps. I thought I heard that Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid were finally in the green, so this would be an opportune time to push through the Health Care Bill at a cost of at least 900 billion dollars, tied in with the Cap and Trade Bill that has an economic out come that can only be estimated by the way it has failed in every country it has been tried in. I do have to admit that the Cash for Clunkers program was an act of genius that actually stimulated the Japanese auto industry by giving them 4/5 of the 3 billion dollars taken from American taxpayer’s pockets, those that are still working that is.

Let’s face it; this economy belongs to the current president Barack Hussein Obama and to the Democratic Congress. They can not blame anyone else any longer for their ineptness and absolute failures. What they have done is nothing short of abject failure and what they propose to do is nothing short of destruction of our economy and way of life.

On a more serious note, due to the handling of the Charlie Rangel scandal, where anyone but a Democratic congressman would be behind bars, I must say that Truth, Justice and the American Way are absent in the Democratic Party or at least the ones represented in the Democratic Congress.

Paul C. France, did you hear, France just warned the Obama administration that Tehran can not expand its uranium enrichment without facing fresh sanctions. I can only hope that the initial reports from the region that said that in Obama’s face to face talk with Iran, the nuclear problem did not even come up.

You can read Obama’s full text speech on the situation delivered the day before his actual meeting but it is clear that he is talking to himself as Iran has no interest in or respect for the weakness shown by the president.

The French official said that imposing a freeze is essential, but the U.S. Official said that that proposal was not the solution to their (Iran’s) nuclear program.

The most alarming statement came from the Fars news agency that insisted that Iran had secured “the upper hand” in the talks.

I don’t know about you, but it makes me feel secure to know that a lone dictator with visions of grandeur of gaining nuclear weapons who has already stated that he would use them is backing down the president of the United States of America.

Even the liberal Democrats eyes should be opened now, but they won’t be.

On a better note, it also makes me feel right with the world to know in this time of double digit unemployment, taxation beyond anyone’s wildest dreams, our men and women fighting a war in a foreign land where the president can not make a decision as to what to do; he and his wife can take (2) jets to fly to Copenhagen to use his status and clout to persuade the Olympic Committee to give the 2016 Olympics to his home town Chicago.

Guess, like the rest of the world, they don’t recognize his status and clout either. Chicago and the president didn’t even make it past the first cut. It probably goes back to the theory, you reap what you sew. After his International Apology Tour 2009, the rest of the world, and rightfully so, wouldn’t want to come to such a corrupt country as his words so eloquently were read off the teleprompter.

He can meet with dictators and Olympic committees in Copenhagen, but can only spare 25 minutes with his commander of our foreign forces who are on the front line in harms way.

Don’t blame me, I voted for Palin.

Paul C. That leaves 1,257 miles NOT under effective control. Why then are we moving 384 agents away from the SW border to the Canadian border. The answer is to meet the 2010 staffing requirements.

Last year, 3 persons linked to terrorism were intercepted crossing the southern border and 530 aliens from “special interest” countries were also caught.

“Special interest countries are countries that are designated by the intelligence community as countries that could export individuals who could bring harm to the United States through terrorism” as reported by the NDIC (National Drug Intelligence Center).

No one denies we have a major problem with intrusion from our southern border. Well everyone except the president and the “yes man” Democrat Congress. We as citizens can no longer accept the useless, worthless actions and inactions of our elected officials. THEY need to be responsive to YOU.

The majority of the people of the United States know that stopping illegal activities on our southern border must stop. The following is my 4 point plan to gain control of our border thereby eliminating much of the stress on our Health Care System, School Systems, Welfare System, Unemployment problem, penal facility overcrowding to mention a few.
Finish the fence and properly man the border.

Quit sending money to Mexico to help them support their side of the border when we know the money is not being used for that purpose. Use that money to pay for out personnel thereby creating jobs and not costing us any more money that we are currently spending.
Fine business’ that are caught hiring illegal immigrants each time they are caught – no exceptions and it must be very costly.

Congress MUST make a statement that there will Never again be a granted Amnesty for bad behavior.

By doing these 4 items, illegal activity will grind to a standstill. When their jobs are gone, they will start returning home or will surface for deportation. With no amnesty in the future, there is no reason to stay.

Now the insurgents that are crossing the border will be easier to mark and capture.
Again, in a time when we as a country should be pulling together to solve our infrastructure problems, we find that our president is more interested in apologizing for our country to the International community.

He is in fact our president. I suggest that we as a people demand that the president start acting like the president of the most powerful country in the world and not some salesman for one world government, with himself as its president.

A word of advice, Barack, the one world government won’t want a weak president anymore than the people of the United States. You have had your probationary period and you have failed miserably to history, the people of the United States and anyone of strength in the International community.

Paul C. The people want it and they will purchase it, thereby reinforcing the fact that the service or commodity that you are supplying is in demand. If the people don’t want it, then the business should change their mode of delivery to what the people want.

Not in today’s America. If the government has a vested interest in a business, then it will be deemed unable to fail. Now it looks like the president is ready to support bailing out failing newspapers. If the talk radio shows were in trouble, would he be so quick to bail them out? This is a rhetorical question.

The news paper industry in America is failing because it refuses to do anything but push a left wing agenda. Granted, if they actually supplied the real news and participated in investigative journalism, the papers would probably not need a bailout in the first place. On the other hand, if they did do their job, the government wouldn’t be lining up to bail them out as the government would be looking to silence their truth also.

I guess the actual question is: Should the newspaper industry work for the American People or the American Government? The 2 are not the same anymore!

Paul C. The president is now pushing for ANOTHER government agency to compete with the other failed agencies he has endorsed or created.

Now he wants an agency to oversee “consumer products.” Nothing ambiguous about that term. It includes, but is not restricted to, mortgages and credit cards.

“We cannot let the narrow interests of a few come before the interests of all of us,” Obama said. “We cannot forget how close we came to the brink, and perpetuate the broken system and breakdown of responsibility that made it possible.”

I want to suggest that WE have not forgotten the irresponsibility that led us to the brink. If you will remember, Obama was one of the leaders who forced unsecured loans down lending institutions throats that caused the “breakdown” in the system in the first place. He is also the instrumental leader that brought the corrupt agency ACORN to be federally funded and utilized nationally. Another abuse of his power. He is also the leader of the cap and trade movement that has failed globally and would be nothing more than a series of taxes on the American people to further the global regime of the president at the expense of our country. He is also the one, who irresponsibly dropped the Eastern European missile shield leaving our real allies vulnerable at a time when world organizations admit that Iran may well have nuclear capacity. And what did we get for it? Russia will maybe listen to us a little more openly. I have to admit, the president knows how to drive a hard bargain.

The president’s irresponsibility is the heart of this blog. He has openly denied health care in the new proposal to illegal aliens but in the same breath says that if he makes then legal then the argument doesn’t even exist. What he doesn’t explain is, in a period of double digit unemployment and even greater underemployment, where are these 15 plus million amnesty people going to work. They can no longer work for slave wages. There will be no where for them to go but welfare. How is he going to pay for that and who will be rationed in their benefits? Make no mistake; the money is not there to sustain our current system. Just add the “illegals” and watch the rationing begin.

We can not even get H1N1 vaccines as promised and yet our president has promised to share out vaccines with other nations to improve “his” global standing. Let’s not forget the simplest of “programs” – Cash for Clunkers. Most of the money went to foreign automobile makers and the money still isn’t making it to the promised recipients.

It is a series of one irresponsible program after another with misleading cost figures, if ANY cost figures are given at all. I could come up with more irresponsible actions since he has been in office, yet can not come up with any responsible programs he has instituted.
Breakdown of responsibility - another name is Obama.

Paul C. That statement has an unusual ring to it because if we throw partisanship out the window it will be the first time since the Democrats took over the White House/Congress.

That having been said, I am glad to see that the country is on firm ground finally. Our National Debt must have been paid off, Medicaid/Medicare, Social Security, and the Prescription Drug Program are no longer 60 trillion dollars in debt, the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have finally been completed and our service men and women are safe just to mention a few because the House of Representatives now has time to rebuke Joe Wilson for speaking the truth.
Was his timing poor – sure, but remember, when lies are told in the name of truth, when should the lies be rebuked.

I would have to suspect the president must have had a speed reader read H.R. 3200 and left out the references to “title 27 of the Public Health Service Act OR under State Law” on page 50. Another curious section would be page 170 where Nonresident Aliens will not be taxed as will American Citizens for not carrying the required health care. This has free ride written all over it.
As a paramedic for 23 years, I can attest that anyone we took to the hospital, whether they had health insurance or not or whether they were an illegal alien or not, GOT TREATMENT. Can we assume that under the Obama Health Care System that all illegal aliens taken to or just showing up at hospitals will be put outside the hospital doors and left to die on the sidewalk? People – wake up.

Joe Wilson finally had enough of the lies being perpetrated on the public by the administration to further their agenda. The media won’t carry the truth, so outbursts will occur from time to time. I am just disillusioned AGAIN with the Republican Party. Had this been a Democrat against Bush, nothing would have even been said, but since it was a Republican against Obama, the Republican Party AGAIN put its tail between its legs and mildly went along with only quiet dissention.

The time for quiet is over! Stand up for your principles and speak the truth. When the lies are being represented as truth, shout it out from the highest mountain OR if necessary, even in the most unlikely of places - in congress.

Paul C. I am getting a first hand view of it taking place as we speak. Having grown up in an era of good guys winning and cowboys standing against the hoards of evil doers, it makes me proud to see that that spirit has not been removed from American Society.

We all know how Washington has dropped the ball on protecting the people on the Texas/Mexican Border and thereby endangering us all. Well, have no fear; the Texas Rangers are on the job. Texas governor Rick Perry is deploying special teams of Texas Rangers to the hot spots and areas where residents are being overrun by gangs and smugglers. I almost want to hear the term, “One border – One ranger.”

Our illustrious president is holding back on sending troops in under the excuse of who is going to pay for the troops. What a line of hypocritical garbage. If you are really so tight on funds, quit throwing money away to Mexico to boost up their side of the border. We the people know that the money isn’t being used to accomplish that task. Where did the administration loose its common sense? Use the money sent to Mexico to pay for the troops and it becomes a wash and actually gets the job done.

As far as U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison goes, her remarks only show her inadequate abilities. She will criticize someone taking on the problem and call it electioneering. Even if it is, at least something is getting done. She has been in Washington for 16 years and look what she has got accomplished on the borders - nothing. The people of Texas want action as do the people of the entire United States, not sound bites that accomplish nothing.

Paul C. The government is closing radio stations in the interest of “democratizing” media ownership of radio stations. Several stations that express opinions not totally in favor of the administration will be closed in the interest of “the people”.

We knew it was coming but didn’t think it would be so obvious. I at least thought the administration would concoct some story that the people would actually fall for. Instead, they have become so bold as to do what they wish regardless of the will of the people.

Granted, in a free society, we are given the right of free speech and our opinions are ours to develop without the censorship of the government. In this administration, it seems that will of the government officials trump the will of the people.

The above mentioned atrocities are currently taking place in Venezuela. 34 stations were closed in August, 29 are scheduled to be closed with a suspected total of 100 stations being eliminated for not promoting the message of the Chavez regime.

Worthy of mentioning is the fact that the Democratic Congress tried to pass the “Fairness Doctrine” which would have had the same results as the events taking place under Chavez.

It is highly suspected that an assault on our 1st amendment rights will be forth coming in the form of another less obvious form of censorship of media not controlled by the liberal left. Interesting enough, is the fact that the “Fairness Doctrine” ONLY dealt with radio stations which characteristically represent the “other side of the argument.” Talk radio is responsible for halting the Amnesty Bill that was attempted to be passed under cover of silence until talk radio exposed the fraud to the people of the United States, and more recently the Cap and Trade farce and the Health Care debacle.

If you feel that true coverage of administration policies and practices are being covered on National Television, please read my blog dated September 4th.

Having waited 2 days to post this blog, I find a new addition must be added.

Mark Lloyd – FCC Chief Diversity Czar – is beginning his attack on talk radio diversity of content on what you are allowed to hear or put another way, what the owners are allowed to say. Big licensing fees are at stake for not talking the governments talk or not providing a diversity of station ownership. Of course, much of the fees go to finance the liberal radio wing – PBS. Will they stop at nothing?

Curious that television is not falling under scrutiny. They are still allowed to remain bias except for FOX. I am sure they will go after them next.

Check out the link below:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCHQux-VzV8

Paul McKain

Paul C. I am asking the people of District 2 – Florida to do 3 things to assist in my efforts to bring true representation to the people.
The first is to remember to vote for me when the time comes. Without your vote, my plans will never make it to the people.

Completely fill out the Campaign Petition Form. This can be copied from my web site off the “3 Point Plan” file attachment entitled PCM Petition. If necessary, the forms can be requested by e-mail or written request. They will be available at all Town Hall Meetings and events in which I am attending. When completed they can be sent to:

Paul McKain for Congress
P.O. Box 71
Lloyd, Florida 32337

3. If possible, when the forms are returned, if a small contribution can be enclosed in the
envelope, it will go a long way to completing the cause of bringing the vote back to the
people. I in no way want a contribution that will disrupt the daily workings of your family
or lifestyle. Times are tough and I understand this fact.

I will not accept Political Action Committee money; it must come from the people who I will be representing.

People from outside of the District and outside of the State of Florida:

It has been acknowledged that people from most states of these United States are going to my web site to see the issues that I am trying to bring to District 2 – Florida and then offer it to the rest of the country.

I have 2 requests from people who are out of my district and out of my state who approve of the issues I represent, in particular “Paul’s First Week” soon to be called “Project 7”.

1. Copy my Candidate Petition Form, fill it out and make sure to write on top of the form the state you live in or the Florida district you vote in and mail it to the address above. This way I will know not to use these forms to qualify with. I would like to make a display of people from around the country that desire true representation from their representative. Your personal information will remain confidential. I would also like to use these to contact you personally once I win the election and implement the system so you will know when to join our Town Hall on-line.

2. If a small contribution can be enclosed, that is just icing on the cake.

Sincerely,
Paul McKain

Paul C. I always hate it when I find an organization or business that turns out to be not what I had always thought them to be.

Make no mistake, I am the most ardent supporter of the Constitution and the 2nd amendment is not to be trifled with. My stance is unyielding. Yet today I was exposed to an organization that I thought was out to protect the 2nd amendment at all cost, only to find out that they are more interested in playing party politics. The organization you ask, it is the National Rifle Association.

Yes, the good old NRA. I am a long term member and contributor to their causes. Today I inquired about gaining their endorsement for my candidacy. Talking with Chuck Cunningham at the Federal Affairs Office, I was told that after the primaries, a questionnaire would be sent to the DEMOCRAT or REPUBLICAN that they thought had the best chance of winning. When asked if they would endorse a third party candidate for his stance on support of the 2nd amendment, the answer was absolutely NO.

We had a 15 – 20 minute discussion on why they would not support any candidate that supported their views and was told that they would only support 1 candidate per race. This I found to be both insulting and to be politically devastating to other candidates that support the constitution that without the NRA endorsement, voters would assume that they did not have a strong stance on the 2nd amendment.

I will be writing a letter to the president explaining that in this age of pending attacks on our 2nd amendment rights, this is not the time to carry on politics as usual. If a candidate is supporting the 2nd amendment rights of our citizenry, the NRA should acknowledge that fact instead of trying to pick winners in the political arena.

All third parties, Independent and Republicans in the 2nd congressional district can kiss the endorsement of the NRA goodbye. According to Chuck, he foresees the incumbent being the only candidate they will get behind in the congressional race. I hope the other 3 groups see that they are being discarded by the NRA and feel just as betrayed as I do!

Voters, keep in mind both in this election and all future elections, that you need to look at the candidates not the recommendation of the NRA, because they are not telling you the whole story.

Paul C. In today’s ever changing world, we can get caught up in the actions being taken by our President and his Congress. By all means, we need to stay focused on their attempts to devalue our economy and deplete our rights as U.S. citizens, but let’s not forget what is happening at the state level to curb their actions.

There are some very important pieces of legislation that require you action to see that your friends and relatives are aware of. These can go a long way towards stopping the flow of unconstitutional legislation from Washington across our state border.

One that I have written about before needs your immediate attention. House Memorial HM19 – “Urges Congress to honor provisions of the U.S. Constitution and U.S. Supreme Court case law which limit scope and exercise of federal power”. In other words,” If your federal legislation violated the 10th amendment to the U.S. Constitution, we in Florida will not let it pass our borders”.

There are 47 cosponsors at this time. Please tell me why all of our state representatives have not signed on to this Memorial? You as citizens need to get on the phone to your representatives and DEMAND your rights be protected from the federal government!

There is also HB21 – The Firearms Freedom Act. This bill provides that “specified firearms, firearm accessories and ammunition for personal use manufactured in state are not subject to federal law or regulation”. This one just makes too much sense. Why should the federal government have a say in how we in Florida protect our 2nd amendment rights from a power grabbing federal government?

The 3rd piece of legislation is House HJR37 – The Health Care Freedom Act. Peter Gemma of the Florida’s Liberty legislation put it perfectly, “The Health Care Freedom Act. This act is a proposed state constitutional amendment that would prevent Florida citizens from being affected by federal health "reform." It provides that any "law or rule shall not compel, directly or indirectly, any person, employer, or health care provider to participate in any health care system," and specifies people and employers can't be fined for not buying insurance. The bill does not ban federal programs such as Medicare and Medicaid in our state; it simply focuses on restricting the federal government from forcing Floridians to participate in an insurance policy, whether public or private. If approved by the state legislature, Florida residents may vote on the amendment in 2010.”

There you have it. Here are 3 pieces of legislation that need your support. Get active, get motivated and send a message to the federal government, to the president and his lackey congress that we will not take it any longer. Don’t forget what the federal government is trying to impose upon us from their level, just remember that we need to fight it on multiple levels.

Paul C. Mine are about to begin. I can truly say that they were one of the best learning experiences I have ever participated in. I did not go inside as they were his meetings, but I was outside meeting the people as they left the building.

The people of district 2 Florida and around the country just want to be told the truth. They can see through the rhetoric quicker than the time it takes to present it. Why a politician would try and tell people that certain things are not in the proposed health care bill when the people who are attending know differently is beyond me. Many of them actually read it first hand. It is an insult to try and deceive when the truth is so obvious.

The people are waking up to the path they have been led down and are not willing to go any further. You can fool the people when they let their guard down but beware when they engage. The people are engaged and will accept nothing less than returning our country to the country that our founding fathers designed.

Having just returned from a meet up group in Olustee, Florida; I found that the 2 hundred people who attended were very aware of the quality of congressmen we have to deal with and they are also aware of what we have to do to correct the problem.

Let this be a warning to all politicians. Defend our country or prepare to find a different form of employment.

Paul C. Understand, I got into this race for a variety of reasons, the initial one being that I felt like I was being ignored and when responded to, being talked to like I should have better things to do besides bothering with issues beyond my comprehension.

Now seeing the people coming out of the meetings, I see I was correct in my formulated opinions. The people are very tired of being talked down to. If they have a question, they want an answer, not a song and dance. Very few people ask questions in these meetings that they don’t already know the answer to, yet they see the answer evading commentary.

I believe that the representative feels above the people or else a question like, “If 75% of the people tell you to vote a certain way on an issue, how will you vote?” Should be an easy question from a representative, wouldn’t you think? Let’s not let the obvious answer get in the way.

The real humorous thing is that when the people come outside, they were aware of the answer they were going to get before they went inside. Most people actually laughed about the lack of concern about answering simple questions.

Simple solution to the entire problem: Represent the people in the first place and none of this would have been necessary!

Paul C. Once you start reading you will not be able to put it down.
I will not even try and summarize the document since I could never do it justice. It is very important that all citizens read it in its entirety. You will be amazed at the evidence that is available and has been for a long time and that it is so closely tied to the current administration.
It is also amazing that so much tax payer money has been and still is being dumped into this type of controversial (at best) organization. This has to stop and it has to stop now.
Read it and weep. Then question any representative that still supports this sham.

Paul C. We just gave them 200 million dollars to do what they won’t let our own citizens and companies do.

Please explain how this President gets away with this kind of hypocrisy. Wouldn’t we be better served by spending our tax dollars on fixing our own infrastructure. WE need the oil, coal, natural gas, and nuclear facilities, certainly not Cap and Trade!

It is time to demand consistency from this administration and congress. It seems that the program is a real boost for Japanese car sales.
Wouldn’t you think that a plan to boost car sales would be directed towards American car sales since it is the American tax payers that are paying for the scheme.
As usual, the congress has put out another half thought out program. Sure, a sizable chunk of their cars are made in the United States, but Detroit is still not reaping the benefit that it could be getting.
Per the article, the top models bought since the scheme began on July 24 are Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic and Ford Focus, all small sedans. Three of the top five are Toyotas.
Sure car sales have increased across the board at the detriment of the American tax payer, but wouldn’t it be better kept on our shores rather than sending more tax payer money abroad.

Paul C. The recession is over. The president and the Democratic Congress are starting to take bows for their fine work and insight.
What I don’t understand is, in such an incline of the economy, how is it that the countries 6th largest bank in U.S. History just went into receivership? On Friday, Colonial Bank of Montgomery, Alabama was closed by the Alabama State Banking Department and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) was named as the receiver. I must have missed the administration and congress bragging about this one. I also didn’t hear them bragging about the other 77 banks that that closed their doors so far this year. Come to think of it, I also didn’t hear them discussing that the FDIC reserves are down to about 10 billion dollars.
Looking at the President and congresses managing of the banking industry, why wouldn’t we want them to impose a National Health Care program that hasn’t worked anywhere else in the world? Why wouldn’t we want them to impose a Cap and Trade System that has been a dismal failure anywhere it has been tried? Why wouldn’t we give them another stimulus package when they haven’t spent more than 10% of the last one?
Does anyone see a spending pattern here? The president and congress need to stop spending on tried and failed programs and turn to our failing infrastructure.
Let’s fix the American economy before we start trying to spread the wealth that we don’t have to spread!

Paul C. A judge that has already ruled against the 2nd amendment. Boyd voted in favor of her. Does the Constitution mean nothing to those that we put our trust in anymore?
How can we trust our representatives who pass legislation without reading it? Who are they trying to appease? It certainly isn’t the people who VOTED them into office. They can not get there without your putting them in.
How can the President and House of Representatives vote to approve this Health Care monstrosity? Boyd voted for it. How could they even consider the Cap and Trade Bill that has proven, in every country in which it has been established, to lower nothing but the economy? It raises unemployment and cost for the jobs it creates is measured in hundreds of thousands of dollars per job. Boyd voted for it.
Why are they talking about another stimulus package when they have only spent 10% of the last one?
Why are they still printing money when they don’t know where the money they already printed went to?
Why does our President appoint Czars instead of following the constitution and going through Senate conformation hearings? Why does our President appoint card carrying Communists and Socialists to his high command? Why did the President put the Census Bureau in the White House under his command?
The Health Care Bill and Cap and Trade Bill confuse me; neither of these could our country sustain even if we were in a good economic period, but both? How far away could another attempt be to pass another amnesty bill? Do you think anyone in the President’s secret chamber of Czars is plotting against the 1st and 2nd amendments?
I honestly don’t know! It looks to me like the deck is being stacked for something.
I felt so disgusted about the atrocities in the Health Care Bill (yea, I actually read it), and knew that I would have to speak out against it at every opportunity. Don’t bother turning me in to the President’s Hot Line for dissenters to the Health Care Bill – I already turned myself in.
Today, I have to question everything!

Paul C. Who would have thought that I would have found something of value in this farce of a Health Care Plan?
While reading Section: 1191 Telehealth Expansions and Enhancements (Health Care by Phone); for heaven sakes, spell check doesn’t even know what telehealth is., I came across something that made me question another position of our House of Representatives.
Section 1191 (C) reads:

Conflicts of Interest – An advisory committee member may not participate with respect to a particular matter considered in an advisory committee meeting if such member (or an immediate family member of such member) has a financial interest that could be affected by the advice given to the Secretary with respect to such matter.

My question is this: Why don’t we have this same “Conflict of Interest” clause in committee’s congressmen and congresswomen sit on. There are many representatives that send contracts to family members, not withstanding Nancy Pelosi to the tune of 25 million dollars to her husbands company.

I do see that the House now requires the sponsor of earmark spending to certify that they have no vested interest in the earmark. My last question is: Is payback of “special interest” considered a vested interest?

Paul C. The bill is HR 3226 entitled: The Czar Accountability and Reform (CZAR) Act of 2009.
The abstract reads: H.R. 3226 would provide that appropriated funds may not be used to pay for any salaries or expenses of any task force, council, or similar office which is established by or at the direction of the President and headed by an individual who has been inappropriately appointed to such position (on other than an interim basis), without the advice and consent of the Senate.
This bill has been proposed to attempt to make the President of the United States comply with the provisions of the United States Constitution, that he took an oath to uphold and defend. He has done just the opposite to date by appointing some 40 Czars to high cabinet positions that answer ONLY to him avoiding Senate confirmations as directed by the Constitution.
Some people will say, “You make a big deal about it but George Bush had Czars also.” Yes he did. He had 3 not 40 that comprise ALL existing cabinet positions and the many new ones created by the new president (Czar Master). Talk about a power grab not to mention a total waste of tax payer money.
This bill should be completely unnecessary as the president is abusing an implied power to avoid constitutional dictates.
Another interesting observation arose during my research. Being that this bill is being introduced to bring the president into compliance under the constitution, maybe you could explain the following fact. As of 7/29/09, there are 32 co-sponsors of the bill. Not one of the co-sponsors is a Democrat.
You would think that Constitutional principles would cross party lines but I guess in the House of Representatives, the Constitution takes a back seat to “party power”.

Paul C. What are the developments you ask? Well, I started reading it.

As an American citizen would you tell your representative to support any of the following individual pieces of legislation (not that they would listen anyway):
1.Federal government rationing of your private health care.
2.Giving tax payer paid health care freely to ALL NON U.S citizens – including illegals.
3.Giving the Federal government direct access to your private medical records.
4.Giving the Federal government direct access to your private bank account so they can withdraw funds electronically without your consent.
5.As a business owner, if you choose to self-insure your workers and not subscribe to the government plan, the Federal government mandates auditing of your books.

The answer is obvious. No one would support any of these pieces of legislation to impose upon your freedoms. No where do any of these items appear under constitutional federal jurisdiction. BUT, if your Congressional Representative voted to approve the Health Care Plan, then they voted to establish these pieces of legislation on every citizen in the country.

Please keep in mind; I have listed only a sampling of the problems I found in my reading of the 1017 page health Care Bill. Also keep in mind, so far I have only read up to page 145.

The Health Care Bill is frightening! It is nothing more than an umbrella containing multiple pieces of legislation that no one would stand for if they tried to pass them on their own. Your congressman/congresswoman would never even have the guts to ask for passage, yet here they are ready to take affect if this Obamanation (you won’t find that word in the dictionary) gets passed.

When anyone tells you that the Health Care Bill is for the poor – get this – if you are poor and qualify for Medicaid as you would today, you are AUTOMATICALLY enrolled in Medicaid. You don’t get a choice! NOTHING CHANGES over what we have before passage of this monstrosity.

If they tell you it is for the children, look them in the eye and see if they can keep a straight face. This is a complete lie. Read my blog on July 14th - Universal Health Care - for the answer to this one.

Which brings me to the question – Who or What is this Bill really for?

Paul C. Congressman Boyd has already received 81% of his campaign contributions from PAC's (Political action committees). Early on I made the decision to only take contributions from individual donors and none from PAC's or business's. It is my belief that once you do this the assumption is there that one day you may have to return the favor. In all honesty this will effect my bid to compete on the scale that Congressman Boyd is capable of, with an endless supply of money. I could not in good conscience except money from any other than an individual donor. I believe there is already enough special interest money floating around Washington and believe it has been instrumental in getting us where we are today.

I ask you now to donate what you can. First I ask of you to donate by telling everyone you can about my campaign. Second I would ask, if you have the means right now to go to www.PaulMcKain.com and give what you feel comfortable donating at this time.

I got in this for the purpose of restoring true citizen participation in government. I am a firm believer in "We the people" by the people and I now ask you to be that person. We the people are the people we have been looking for. With your help i can win this. With your help I can guarantee true representation of the people in the House of Representatives.

I thank you all so much for your dedication thus far. The Republicans are blaming the Democrats for trying to pass a bill that can not be funded by the methods contained in the bill. Pelosi is blaming both Republicans and Democrats for not giving the president what he wants, when he wants it. The president is blaming everyone since he doesn’t care what is in the bill as long as he gets a bill gets passed. The “Blue Dog Democrats” have posed for the cameras enough to pretend to care about “the people” and now feel comfortable backing a bill that would be another entitlement program that the country can not afford and would be another stake in the heart of free enterprise.
If I were playing the “blame game”, I would blame the people of the United States. Actually, blame is the wrong word. I would praise the people of the United States for not buying into the hype, the manipulation of the administration and the rush to pass another bill that will absolutely invade our state sovereignty and our personal lives.
I don’t mean to make this too simple or put too much common sense into government, but shouldn’t the Representatives be looking to the people of their district and Senators be looking at the people in their state for the answer on how they are going to vote on the Health Care Bill. If they actually did their job, the Health Care Bill would have been put to rest long ago. Make no mistake; the only representation being conducted is that of Party Power Politics.
As a 21 year paramedic, I NEVER had a patient that was refused treatment. Let me repeat, I NEVER had a patient that was refused treatment. England and Canada with Universal Health Care can not make the same statement.

Paul C. We propose universal civilian service for every young American. Under this plan, All Americans between the ages of eighteen and twenty-five will be asked to serve their country by going through three months of basic training, civil defense preparation and community service.

It took me by surprise at first but then I realized the real ramifications of such an act.

1.With an ever expanding and increasing government, more public servants will be needed to keep up with the growth.
2.This is an obvious expansion of AmeriCorps. The Serve America Act will increase the size of AmeriCorps from 75,000 volunteers to 250,000 by 2017.
3.Not unlike Soviet Youth Programs, this would lead to a venue for spreading propaganda favoring the party in power.

Representative Michele Bachmann is quoted saying:
I believe that there is a very strong chance that we will see that young people will be put into mandatory service. And the real concerns is that there are provisions for what I would call re-education camps for young people, where young people have to go and get trained in a philosophy that the government puts forward and then they have to go to work in some of these politically-correct forums.

What I find the most interesting is that Representative Bachmann made her statement in April of this year and was shouted down by Obama supporters.

Rahm Emanuel made his statement yesterday and no one is saying a thing.

Looks like Representative Bachmann was on the right tract and the Obama shouters were misled again.

The Act was passed as a voluntary program, but now they are “talking” about mandatory service. True to form, give them an inch and they will try and take a mile.

Paul C. Granted, we spent billions to design, test, and go into production and who cares about the loss of jobs that relate to the commitment. You can take a position on either side of the argument and probably make it sound convincing.
I have 2 questions.
1. When we began the spending on the project, at what point did it become too costly to continue? I find it hard to believe that it wasn’t an issue until they started in production.
Obama said he is “grateful” to members of the Senate who voted to end production of the F-22. “At a time when we’re fighting two wars and facing a serious deficit, this would have been an inexcusable waste of money,” Obama said at the White House. – Bloomberg.com

This brings us to question #2.
2. Why hasn’t the new Presidential Helicopter program been scrapped? I have read recent articles that give the cost of the president’s new helicopter.
When working on Sunrise Fire Department, we had the job of standing by for the landing of Presidential Helicopters. Did you notice the plural in helicopters? When the President flies he always flies in groups of 3 for security reasons. The Federal government can not be making 1 helicopter as that would stand out like a sore thumb. As it turns out, it appears that there will be 6 new copters being constructed – “at a time when we’re fighting 2 wars and facing a serious deficit, this would have been an inexcusable waste of money”.
I guess tax payers money is only wasted when it pertains to national security, certainly not the president’s comfort zone.

Paul C. Then the old mantra returns,” We can’t have children not covered with health insurance. It is about the children”. Nothing could be further from the truth!
I have been investigating a program called Florida Kidcare. I am currently waiting for an appointment with a member from the corporate office to answer several questions that I currently have. Apparently this will cover children from birth to age 18. There appears to be a limited number of enrollment openings but I will find out the answers to that and many other questions when I gain my meeting. Apparently other states have similar programs.
If this program works, then why not expand something that is already in place, for the children. The reason is, it is not for the children. Children can not vote.
I have seen many estimates on people without health care. It seems that somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 million people don’t have health insurance. The statistics would suggest that about half of these CHOOSE to spend their disposable income on other things. I have to question why taxpayers should pay for people who make bad choices.
I just saw a health insurance company advertisement that boasted coverage for the price of a package of cigarettes a day. Not many people can not afford that. I personally can not afford a large screen TV, but many people who can not afford health care - can.
I agree that all children should be covered and the parents should be responsible for that coverage. A program like mentioned above would fill the bill. Once the child reaches 18 years old, it is time to start acting like an adult and start making adult decisions. Should parents still be involved, of course, but it is hard enough to get many parents involved when it should be mandatory.
It is time to make people responsible for their own actions and stop rewarding bad behavior and bad decision making. If we continue to bail out irresponsibility then, as we have seen in the past, people will rely on government to GIVE them things and will continue to vote a particular party into office, who will continue to keep the freebies coming, thereby eliminating their free will to strive, to better themselves and excel in life.
This last paragraph just summed up the real motive for the Universal Health Care Plan in the United States.

Paul C. I would suggest until Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid are solvent. No bill can contain it! If the bill can not stand on its own – it should fail. Earmark spending is nothing but criminal spending of tax payer money.
Granted, congress will try to ignore the elimination of their “cash cow” but using public pressure detailed in “Paul’s First Week”, I believe we could bring congress to some sort of compromise.
No bill or project (pork spending would come under this heading) could even be submitted for consideration and ultimately brought to the floor for discussion until an actuary has run the numbers and calculated the cost to the taxpayers should the bill be passed. The proposed bill or project would have to explain:
1. The projected benefit of the bill
2. The projected cost of the bill
3. Where the money would come from?
4. Since a mandatory limit on overages would be imposed, in the event there are overages, where would the unauthorized overages come from so a project does not get started and stopped before completion?
5. How much and when will the funds taken for the project be returned?
6. What is the time frame for returning the funds? (Why shouldn’t it be?)
7. The actuary will be responsible for a percentage of miscalculations so actual numbers will be presented finally.
This in itself will be instrumental in lowering congressional spending as it would actually take work and due diligence to even be able to propose a bill. It will also cost the proposer of the bill or project funds to run it through the actuary. It definitely would eliminate projects like the proposed 265 million dollar Capital Visitor Center that got completed at a cost of 621 million dollars. Much of this money was ear mark spending add-ons.

Paul C. On the surface it would seem a travesty that these bonuses were given from tax payer money for a job poorly done. On the surface was the key phrase.
This was nothing more than a slight of hand. People of America, watch and be enraged about 146 MILLION dollars contractually given to AIG executives by congress. Don’t look at the 63 BILLION dollars being funneled to FOREIGN BANKS through the same company. It Worked.
Today, in one hand, we are told that a new bonus package is being given to AIG executives at a cost of 285 MILLION dollars of tax payer money. The American tax payers own 74% of AIG and it has lost 35% of its value in the last 3-weeks alone. Not a great acquisition. Since congress does not seem to have the ability to make sound business decisions, I have 2 questions:
1. Did anyone ask the American taxpayers how they felt about the bonuses?
2. What is the other hand doing that we as American taxpayers are not suppose to watch?
Just be vigilant!

Paul C. Like most American citizens, I thought I had a good grasp on the situation.
Over the past couple of days, along with everything else I have to do, I put about 8-hours into research, and I have to say that I am more confused than ever. “Conspiracy Theorists” frequently talk about a shadow government and I always felt them to be fanatical at best. Now I believe that you don’t have to look any further than the system mentioned above.
If there was ever an organization that needed transparency, the Federal Reserve is that organization. Ron Paul’s Bill HR 1207 is not a piece of legislation that should have a majority backing in Congress, it should be unanimous. I seriously question the motives of those congressmen and congresswomen women who are NOT behind it.
Paul McKain

Paul C. I spent 2-days researching the concept. To say the least, it is a complicated and somewhat disturbing relationship not to mention the cloak of secrecy surrounding the Federal Reserve.
I have to ask the question again: Why would any representative of the people NOT vote for Ron Paul’s proposed legislation (H.R. 1207) to allow auditing of the Federal Reserve? It is your money that is being printed and used without scrutiny. I recommend all voters call the office of Allen Boyd and ask for an explanation of why he does not support this legislation. The Tallahassee office number is (850) 561-3979 and the Washington number is (202) 225-5235.
I recommend the following link to help explain the relationship between the Treasury and the Federal Reserve: http://www.treas.gov/education/faq/currency/legal-tender.shtml - but make no mistake, this is only a start.

Also, from time to time, I will list pieces of legislation that I would like to propose once elected to office and gain the approval of the people of District 2. The following is the second piece of legislation to be posted.

A second piece of legislation I would like to propose (not necessarily in any order as they appear on my blog):
While working as a paramedic, I can not count the number of American citizens I have had a part to bringing into this world. It is a frequent practice of many women who are in their 9th month of pregnancy to leave their country of origin and come to the United States to give birth so their child will be an American citizen with all privileges awarded there to.
This also gives the family a foot in the door to migrating to our country by using an antiquated section of an amendment, in essence, a loophole to avoid doing it the proper way.
I would propose that the 14th amendment be changed by inserting 5 words– All persons born “of a Female American Citizen” or naturalized in …
These 5 words will stop a practice that is being abused on a daily basis. I recommend “of a Female American Citizen” to prevent the practice of father searching and eliminating DNA as a means of obtaining citizenship. A child must be born of an American Female Citizen to be a citizen of the United States.

Paul C. There was a massive turnout at both venues.
People were excited to see that their values, of government being responsive to the wishes of the people, were not shared by them alone. They were also excited to see that they had a chance to gain this type of representation in the next election, something that they currently lack.
I’ve added a new tab on my website titled, “My First Week in Office”, that will be posted on Monday. Everyone took the 4th off to celebrate with friends and family hence it is not up yet. The discussion of this document was of prime interest at the 2 events yesterday. There are many things I would like to do once elected. These are the things I WILL do the first week in office, as the public will have already given me the right to proceed by giving me their vote.
I encourage you to come back and see the difference from what we currently have to what we will have once you elect me to the office of U.S. Representative.
One last item. At both events, I talked with many, many people who asked what I would like to implement if given the opportunity. From time to time I will list some of the pieces of legislation that I would like to propose once the people of District 2 give me the “go-ahead”.

The following is one:
After 6-years in office, congressmen obtain lifetime private health insurance. I propose that we cancel this policy. In lieu of private insurance, I propose that we roll all congressmen/congresswomen – past, present and future – into the Veteran’s Administration. The existing V.A. will barely feel the incorporation of this many new inductees. If it is good enough for our service men and women, it is good enough for congressmen/congresswomen.
Benefits of this plan:
There will be a cost savings by eliminating the private insurance
Most importantly, if congress has to use the Veteran’s Administration for their health coverage, I firmly believe, congress will fund the V.A. much better than is currently being done!
I know that many will say that this is a great idea but congress won’t go along with it. Read “My First Week in Office” and see one of the ways it WILL be accomplished. Make no mistake, no congressman or congresswoman want to be publicly exposed for wanting something that is good enough for our men and women in service to their nation but not good enough for them.

Paul C. The entrance fee is if you choose to visit the museum otherwise admission to the grounds and the Tea Party are no charge. The event will begin at 3pm until…
There will also be a rally at 12pm at the steps of the old courthouse. This will be a “we surround them” event that will last until 2pm. Show up if you can.
The rally against Federal Government takeover of the health care system was a tremendous success. Granted, the event was to last 2-hours and just over an hour into the event a major electrical storm with hail moved in. Support from attendees and drive bys on Monroe was overwhelming.

I have always been of a mind to keep things simple. As soon as you try and complicate an issue, that is when the original purpose starts getting distorted and bias starts being injected. The fact of the matter is very clear and simple; we already have a form of universal health care. Medicare/Medicaid are examples of how the Federal Government will administer a health care plan. True they are both bankrupt but don’t just use one example of how well they can administer a large scale social program. They also did a great job with social security – oh – that’s bankrupt too.
Bottom line – don’t start any more social programs until the existing ones are solvent. Don’t ask for any more taxes from the American people until Congress and the President learn how not to spend. We should be in a reconstruction period now not a period of developing new costly programs that the government has proven beyond a shadow of doubt that they can not administer.

Paul C. Hopefully this will allow you to know who I really am.
The Cap and Trade Bill, as you know, was passed by the U.S. House. The Representative for District 2, Alan Boyd, voted FOR the bill although I have heard many voters’ views and none were in favor of Cap and Trade. Granted, it was informal polling but absolutely unanimous.
This does not surprise me since he also voted against the overwhelming will of the people when he voted FOR the Stimulus Package.
What would make a representative vote against the will of the people? By the mere definition of the word representative, he has proven not to be one. This is exactly why I entered the race.
This only leaves us to the Senate. Do we have Senators who represent the will of the people or do they also have their own agenda?
You as voters MUST get engaged in the process and call, write and E-mail your 2 Senators. Express your feelings on the upcoming Cap and Trade Bill before the Senate.
Their contacts are as follows:

Martinez, Mel - (R - FL)
Class III
356 RUSSELL SENATE OFFICE BUILDING WASHINGTON DC 20510
(202) 224-3041
Web Form: martinez.senate.gov/public/?p=EmailSenatorMartinez

Nelson, Bill - (D - FL)
Class I
716 HART SENATE OFFICE BUILDING WASHINGTON DC 20510
(202) 224-5274
Web Form: billnelson.senate.gov/contact/index.cfm

Cap and trade has failed world wide. Australia is abandoning their attempt at it. Spain tried and lost 2.2 jobs for every job created from the green technology arriving at over 18% UNEMPLOYMENT.

The New York Times quote on the European Union's cap-and-trade program (that started in 2005) says it all: "Their plan unleashed a lobbying free-for-all that led politicians to dole out favors to various industries, undermining the environmental goals. Four years later, it is becoming clear that system has so far produced little noticeable benefit to the climate, but generated a multi-billion dollar windfall for some of the continent's biggest polluters."

Don’t allow this governmental control of your life to proceed. Get engaged and demand that your representatives and senators represent your wishes and not that of special interest and their party.

Below is a good article from the Washington Post for those who would like a refresher on the Cap and Trade farce. As of Wednesday June 24, 2009 @ 12:10pm, Representative Boyd’s Washington office has no comment on how the Representative will vote on Fridays Cap and Trade Bill. By all means, don’t let the people know where you stand on such an important issue. Don’t bother calling the Tallahassee office as no one is there until the 29th.
I strongly advise you to call 202-225-5235 and express your disapproval of this bill and all the negative ramifications that go with it.
Granted, our wishes have fallen on deft ears in the past, but the consequences of passage of the Cap and Trade Bill are too devastating to ignore. We need to be shrinking the size and scope of the Federal Government not expanding it!
Sincerely,
Paul McKain

Paul C.
