The past 2 days attending the town hall meetings of my opponent in the upcoming midterm election have been exactly what I thought they would be. Understand, I got into this race for a variety of reasons, the initial one being that I felt like I was being ignored and when responded to, being talked to like I should have better things to do besides bothering with issues beyond my comprehension.
Now seeing the people coming out of the meetings, I see I was correct in my formulated opinions. The people are very tired of being talked down to. If they have a question, they want an answer, not a song and dance. Very few people ask questions in these meetings that they don’t already know the answer to, yet they see the answer evading commentary.
I believe that the representative feels above the people or else a question like, “If 75% of the people tell you to vote a certain way on an issue, how will you vote?” Should be an easy question from a representative, wouldn’t you think? Let’s not let the obvious answer get in the way.
The real humorous thing is that when the people come outside, they were aware of the answer they were going to get before they went inside. Most people actually laughed about the lack of concern about answering simple questions.
Simple solution to the entire problem: Represent the people in the first place and none of this would have been necessary!
