I don’t want this blog to become a complaint session but I feel compelled to bring a “situation” back to light.
If you will remember, go back to the last stimulus package when AIG was going to give somewhere in the neighbor hood of 165 MILLION dollars to AIG executives in bonuses.
Keep in mind that the Democratic Congress wrote into the plan that AIG was contractually allowed to give these bonuses. On the surface it would seem a travesty that these bonuses were given from tax payer money for a job poorly done. On the surface was the key phrase.
This was nothing more than a slight of hand. People of America, watch and be enraged about 146 MILLION dollars contractually given to AIG executives by congress. Don’t look at the 63 BILLION dollars being funneled to FOREIGN BANKS through the same company. It Worked.
Today, in one hand, we are told that a new bonus package is being given to AIG executives at a cost of 285 MILLION dollars of tax payer money. The American tax payers own 74% of AIG and it has lost 35% of its value in the last 3-weeks alone. Not a great acquisition. Since congress does not seem to have the ability to make sound business decisions, I have 2 questions:
1. Did anyone ask the American taxpayers how they felt about the bonuses?
2. What is the other hand doing that we as American taxpayers are not suppose to watch?
Just be vigilant!
